Bentley

Bentley Motors Limited is a brand name that has been under the wing of the Volkswagen Automobile Group (V.A.G.) since 1998. The brand was started by Walter Owen Bentley in 1919 and managed to win the Le Mans 24 Hours several times with, among others, the Bentley Blower.

In the early 1930s, however, the crisis hit hard for Bentley and the company was liquidated and parts sold to Rolls Royce. However, where Walter Owen Bentley had not patented the brand name "Bentley", this was done by Rolls Royce. Bentley continued as a brand name, but the cars that were produced were based on the chassis of Rolls Royce and contained an adapted version of the Rolls Royce engine. It would take until 2004 for a full Bentley to be produced as a result of the acquisition of Rolls Royce by BMW and Bentley by Volkswagen.

In 2019 there are 4 models in production, the Bentley Mulsanne, Bentley Flying Spur, Bentley Bentayga and the Bentley Continental GT. Of the latter, a GT3 version is available that is used in the Blancpain Endurance Series.
