Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo is recognized worldwide as a real driver's car, purists in the car world say that you are not a real car enthusiast if you have never owned an Alfa. This image is only matched by the ever-present mechanical breakdown that you undoubtedly faced as an Alfa Romeo driver.

However, the moderate quality of the Alfa is more than made up for by its absolute beauty. The Italian designs of the bodywork are praised and have contributed to the success of the company. Originated from the Italian branch of Darracq in France as Anonima Lambarda Fabbrica Automobile and later taken over by Nicola Romeo, formed into ALFA Romeo.

Alfa Romeo was sold to Fiat in 1986, which merged it with Lancia. The company would struggle with production and sales figures until the Alfa Romeo 157 was released in 1997, which would immediately be chosen as car of the year. In 2001 the Alfa Romeo 147 followed again elected car of year.

In 2007, Alfa Romeo again became a stand-alone manufacturer with the formation of Alfa Romeo Automobili SpA, which is still fully owned by Fiat, but independently developed cars on the Fiat platform.
